Installation guide
Install Win Win.
Last updated 12 October 2026
Install the format your DAW supports, then restart or rescan the DAW.

macOS
-
Download the .pkg
From Downloads.
-
Double-click it and follow the installer
It installs four things: the VST3 plugin in
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3, the Audio Unit in/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components, the AAX plugin in/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins, and the standalone app in/Applications. All four are ticked by default. To leave one out, untick it in the installer's Customize step. You will be asked for your admin password, because those folders are outside your home directory. -
Restart your DAW
A DAW scans for plugins at launch. One that is already running will not notice a new one until it is restarted, or told to rescan (see below).
The macOS installer is signed and notarized. If macOS blocks it, email support@neap.cloud with the exact warning.
macOS AAX and Audio Unit
The macOS installer installs the Audio Unit and the AAX plugin itself. There is no separate download and nothing to copy by hand.
- Logic Pro and GarageBand use the Audio Unit. The installer puts
Win Win Saturation.componentin/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/. - Pro Tools uses AAX. The installer puts
Win Win Saturation.aaxpluginin/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins/.
Run the installer, then restart your host. If Logic Pro does not show the plugin, open Settings → Plug-in Manager and rescan.
If you copied the Audio Unit by hand from the earlier AAX + AU disk image, delete that old copy from ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/, so your host does not find two versions.
The Audio Unit passed Apple's validation. The AAX plugin is PACE-signed, but loading it in Pro Tools has not yet been verified by us. See Known issues.
Windows
-
Download the Windows installer
Choose Windows on Downloads or in your account. The Win Win Saturation download is a
-setup.exeinstaller. Close your DAW before running it. -
Run the installer
Double-click the downloaded file and follow the steps. It places the VST3 plugin in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3automatically. The standalone app is installed inC:\Program Files\Neap\Win Win Saturationand added to the Start menu. Both are selected by default; you can untick the standalone app. Windows will ask for permission to install. -
Restart your DAW
Or rescan, using the list below.
The Windows “unknown publisher” warning
The Windows installer and standalone app are unsigned, so Windows may show an unknown-publisher warning when you run them. For a download from neap.cloud, the SmartScreen dialog offers More info, then Run anyway. If you are unsure about the file or warning, contact support@neap.cloud.
Telling your DAW to rescan
| DAW | Where |
|---|---|
| Ableton Live | Preferences → Plug-Ins → Rescan |
| Cubase / Nuendo | Studio → VST Plug-in Manager → the refresh button |
| Studio One | Preferences → Locations → VST Plug-Ins → Reset Blocklist, then restart |
| Reaper | Preferences → Plug-ins → VST → Re-scan |
| FL Studio | Options → Manage plugins → Find more plugins |
| Bitwig Studio | Settings → Locations → Plug-ins → Rescan |
| Logic Pro / GarageBand | Restart after running the installer. In Logic Pro, use Settings → Plug-in Manager to rescan if needed. |
| Pro Tools (macOS) | Restart Pro Tools after running the installer. |
It still is not showing up
Check these installation and scanning settings.
- You are in Logic Pro, GarageBand or Pro Tools. These hosts do not load VST3. Logic Pro and GarageBand use the Audio Unit; Pro Tools uses AAX. Both are in the macOS installer; there is no AAX for Windows. The installer installs both unless they were unticked in its Customize step. Run it again with them ticked, then restart the host. If Customize does not list Audio Unit and AAX, you have an earlier installer: download the current one from Downloads and run that.
- You did not restart the DAW. Restart it or run a plugin rescan.
- It is in the wrong folder. On Windows, check
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3, not Program Files (x86), and not a personal folder unless your DAW is specifically pointed at one. - Your DAW is not scanning that folder. Check the plugin paths in its preferences and add the VST3 folder if it is missing.
- The DAW blocklisted it after a failed scan. Studio One and Cubase both keep a blocklist. Clear it, then rescan.
- You used an earlier Windows ZIP download. Run the current installer from Downloads. If you previously copied the plugin to a different folder, remove that older copy so your DAW does not find two versions.
Still stuck? Email support@neap.cloud with your OS version, your DAW and its version, and which of the above you have tried. See Support for help.
Uninstalling
macOS: delete Win Win Saturation.vst3 from /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3, Win Win Saturation.component from /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components, Win Win Saturation.aaxplugin from /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins, and the app from /Applications.
Windows: close your DAW, open Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find Neap Win Win Saturation, and choose Uninstall. This removes the installed plugin and standalone app. If you installed an older ZIP by hand, delete that old .vst3 copy from its folder.
If you are moving to a new computer, deactivate your licence first. See the activation guide. Deleting the files does not release the activation.
